Morocco is a country located in West Africa and shares its borders with Spain, Algeria and Mauritania. Its coasts are bathed by the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The Atlas peaks, 4000 meters high, is one the highlights of this country.

The official language is Arabic, although in many areas of the country also Berber or Amazigh is spoken. The use of French is widespread especially in tourist areas and Spanish has begun to be known by people working in tourism.

Across the country, and depending on the area, the weather can be very different, ranging from the snow of the peaks of the Atlas, to the heat of the dessert or the breeze of the ocean.

The most representative dishes of the Morrocan cuisine include tajine, couscous, suops, kebps, salads, etc…

The official currency is the Moroccan dirham (dh) whose average value is 1 € = 11 dh.

The time in Morocco is the prime meridian. Compared to Spain there are the following differences: 1 hour less in autumn-winter and 2 hours less in spring and summer.

Although water is generally treated, it is recommendable to drink bottled water. Medical care for foreigners is not free. No vaccination is needed.

For Spaniards, a valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months is required.

As far as clothes are concerned, you should wear light clothes during the day and something warmer at night.

Access to mosques is forbidden to non-Muslims.
|
You should always ask for permission before photographing people. It not advisable to photograph official places, military complexes or airport though.
